Coach

When and how did you get involved in archery?

Our family shot in the backyard for years and my oldest daughter joined a short shooter archery league at Old 45 in 2014. As she and my husband continued to shoot, I finally got my first bow in 2015 and began to shoot myself. Shortly after, we signed up for a couples league at Old 45. When my youngest was 3, she began to shoot here and there too. Its a fun family sport that anyone can do!

When and how did you get involved in coaching archery?

After a few years of my oldest in S3DA and the club growing so fast, I realized I could be a coach to help the younger archers. Our club has many first time archers. I became a level 1 coach in April 2021.

What is your favorite part of being a coach?

Working with kids that have never shot archery before and still seeing them at practice months later.

What part of archery do you find the most interesting?

What the most interesting to me is the amount of females in the sport! Our club has many female archers of all ages.

What is your favorite S3DA Competition format and why? (Indoor Target, 3D, Outdoor Target)

My favorite format is indoor target as all participants shoot together. Girls and boys from all of the clubs/teams are mixed up, and a 6th grader can be next to a 12th grader. It is so great to see them interacting with each other.
